Friends of Powell County's Pets, Inc.

• Volunteer with FOPCP, Inc. - Volunteer your skills and knowledge by attending meetings and working community events. Anyone is welcome to join. Contact for more information on dates and times of meetings.

• Volunteer at the Powell County Pound - Volunteer to help clean the Pound and walk the animals at the Pound. It's amazing how the Pound is in constant need of cleaning. And the animals there would love for you to come by and visit them - This is good leisure time for both you and them!

• Transport Animals to other Rescues & Foster homes - Unfortunately, the Powell County Pound is a kill shelter. This means that after a certain amount of time, animals at the pound will be put to sleep. To prevent this from happening, FOPCP, Inc. drives animals from the Pound to foster homes or to other shelters that are no-kill shelters (they do not put animals down, regardless of how long they are there). We need your help in getting them there!

• Transport Animals for Vet Visits - Sometimes animals at the Pound or in foster homes need urgent medical care or a good vet check-up. You can help by driving them to and from the vet.

• Foster a Pet - Help many animals!
  By fostering a pet you give an animal the chance to have a happy, healthy home while waiting to be transported to another rescue or be adopted. We are in great need of foster parents!

• Sponsor a Pet - Help many animals!
  By sponsoring a pet, you provide money for an animal to be vaccinated, spayed or neutered, transported, or fostered. If you are unable to foster or adopt a pet, but you still want to help out, this is a good way to do that!

• Adopt a Pet - Help one animal! If you are interested in adding a new member to your family, then click on the View Animals tab on the left to learn more about adopting a pet from the Pound.

• Donate Supplies - medical & general Download the list of supplies you can purchase and drop off at the Pound. This is a great way to help out!

• Donate Monetary Gifts - Friends of Powell County's Pets, Inc. has an account at Whitaker Bank in Clay City, KY where you can make a deposit of any amount you wish. Or you can donate online. Thank you!

The pound is in need of alot of supplies, flea spray, worm medicine, bleach and  numerous other things click on list of supplies above for a complete list. Help us help them have a better life!

 Shell Mart and Dairy Queen are our newest cash donation centers.

 Other locations include:  Walgreens, Kathy’s, Pizza Place, Shabby Chic, & Hood’s Restaurant.
